Frequently Asked Questions

There are many questions that we get asked every day, so below we have provided the most frequently asked ones; however If there is a question that we have not covered email us on or telephone our flight operations staff on 0845 456 4202. Office hours are 09:00 to 18:00  Monday to Friday & 09.30 to 13.30 on Saturdays.



Flight Times
Balloon flights take place early morning or evening when the weather is at its calmest and there is no thermal activity. Times vary throughout the year, but a general guide is an hour after dawn and two hours before sunset.

Weather

We require light winds, no rain and good visibility to provide you with a safe and enjoyable flight. Passengers are requested to call our 24 hour weather check line before their flight. This is continually updated with information specially provided for us by the Met Office. Should your flight need to be cancelled because of poor conditions, it will be rescheduled for you as soon as possible.

Clothing

Dress as if out for a days walk in the country. What might you need to take with you? Boots and trousers are practical, and ladies, we ask that you avoid high heels please.

Passenger Care

Baskets are approximately 1.1 meters high with step holes to assist entry. Children must be accompanied by and adult and be tall enough to see over the basket and stand for about one hour. If you have medical conditions and are unsure about flying please ask our booking staff for advice. We ask that expectant mums do not fly.

Cameras and Camcorders

Many passengers wish to record this experience of a lifetime. You are welcome to carry cameras in flight at your own risk. During the flight, the pilot will brief you on where to stow your camera during the landing.

Followers

Friends and relatives who are not flying but have come along to watch may follow the retrieve crew in their own vehicles, but we ask that they remain in their vehicles and do not enter any fields. From take off to arriving back at the launch site takes approximately 3 hours.

I Have A Restricted Voucher, Can I Upgrade It ?
Yes, you can use the value of your voucher to pay for any of our goods and services and just pay the difference. If you booking your flight date via our online booking system you will be asked to pay the difference then or Just call us on 0845 456 4202. (subject to our terms & conditions)
